At Janhit Foundation, women's independence is a core priority. We believe in empowering underprivileged women by providing not just basic comforts, but also the knowledge, resources, and support they need to recognize their own value and contribute equally to society. As the world moves toward greater gender equality, we are committed to dismantling restrictive norms and creating pathways for women's autonomy, health, and dignity.

1. Health & Hygiene Awareness Programs
Illiteracy and deep-rooted superstitions often prevent communities, especially women, from adopting safe hygiene practices—even when infrastructure is available.

Our Intervention
- Conduct community health programs in rural and urban settlements to educate on the critical link between hygiene and health. Impact
- Address misconceptions surrounding toilet usage and open defecation.
- Inform women and families about preventable diseases that arise from unhygienic practices, empowering them to protect their households.

2. Menstrual Health & DignityRainwater Harvesting Promotion
Menstruation remains shrouded in stigma, and many women lack access to basic menstrual health resources, affecting their health, mobility, and dignity.

Sanitary Napkin Distribution & Education
- Distribute sanitary napkins regularly to women in need. across the region.
- Conduct awareness sessions to normalize menstruation as a natural biological process.
- Educate women on safe menstrual hygiene management, moving away from the use of unhygienic materials like cloth or cotton.

3. Janhit Mahila Helpline: Immediate Support for Women in Distress
To provide accessible, structured support, we launched the Janhit Mahila Helpline — a dedicated resource for women across the district.

How It Works
- Women in distress can call 0121-4302021 to register their problems.
- Calls are handled with empathy and confidentiality.
- The helpline is supported by a Panel of Experts from diverse fields:
(i) Legal aid
(ii) Career counseling
(iii) Psychological support
(iv) Education and skill guidance
(v) Social sector advocacy

Impact
- Since its launch, the helpline has seen a growing number of cases as awareness spreads.
- Women receive tailored, practical advice and are connected to implementable solutions.
- The service ensures no woman has to face her challenges alone.

4. Our Journey & Leadership
Janhit Foundation began as a small initiative and has grown into an established organization operating from a two-story office with a dedicated team of 25+ full-time staff.
In 2008, following the sudden passing of our founding Director, Shri Anil Rana, the organization has been ably led by Ms. Anita Rana. Under her guidance, our commitment to women’s empowerment has deepened, reflected in both our community programs and our organizational ethos.

Our Mission Moving Forward
We continue to work toward a world where:
- Every woman has access to health knowledge and sanitary resources.
- No woman suffers in silence—help is just a phone call away.
- Women are educated, economically engaged, and empowered to lead change in their communities.

If you are a woman in or around Meerut facing any challenge—whether related to health, rights, violence, or opportunity—reach out. You are not alone.
