At Janhit Foundation, we believe every child deserves a safe, healthy, and empowered childhood. Our work spans from emergency response to long-term preventive initiatives, all aimed at upholding the dignity, rights, and potential of every child. We intervene through crisis support, community empowerment, and systemic change to protect children from harm and secure their future.

Janhit Foundation is a dedicated partner in the national CHILDLINE network, operating a 24-hour toll-free emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection. By dialing 1098, children or concerned adults can access immediate support and long-term rehabilitation services.

Since August 2007, Meerut has been part of this vital initiative, with Janhit Foundation responsible for its local implementation. In 2020, our responsibility expanded to include the Meerut Railway Childline, extending our reach and impact.

2. Preventing Exploitation: Creating a Child free marriage india

  • Child marriage is a critical violation of rights that ends childhood, especially for girls. We work to eliminate it through prevention, empowerment, and legal action.

    Why It Must End
    Child marriage leads to:
    - Loss of education and economic opportunity.
    - Early pregnancies and health risks. Increased domestic violence and exploitation.
    - Perpetuation of poverty and gender inequality.

    Our Preventive Approach
    a) Community Awareness & Sensitization
    Village and school-based programs on:
    - Legal marriage age (Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006).
    - Health and social consequences.
    - Child rights under Indian law.

    b) Education & Girl Empowerment
    - Encouraging school retention for adolescent girls.
    - Life skills and leadership programs.
    - Promoting aspirations beyond early marriage.

    c) Legal Intervention & Advocacy
Working with local authorities, child protection committees, and leaders to:
    - Prevent planned child marriages.
    - Support reporting and rescue.
    - Strengthen enforcement of laws.

3. Holistic Support for Marginalized Children

Beyond crisis response, we provide sustained support to ensure vulnerable children thrive:
Educational Support
  • - Non-formal education for out-of-school children
  • - Provision of stationery, school uniforms, and learning materials
Health & Well-being
  • - Regular health check-ups and immunization drives in slums
  • - Hygiene and sanitation awareness
Skill & Livelihood Development
  • - Preparing older children for self-sufficiency through vocational training
