How Janhit Foundation came into existence?

A young, eager mind, while in his teens, instead of enjoying activities his peers were indulging in, formed a group of young dynamic leaders to make a difference to this world. Following the mainstream, he taught English at the University level for about a decade, but, Late Sh. Anil Rana an alumnus of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was a very restless and dissatisfied visionary, which made him resign from the permanent job.

The seed that was planted during his university days sprouted in 1998 in the form of Janhit Foundation. With a mission and no funds he set out in the most difficult area of Western U.P. to bring about a change.  He alongwith a group of youngsters persevered untiringly for five years with little or no funds towards creating awareness on various issues related to water and sustainable agriculture.

Take a look in 20 districts around and you will not find a single organisation ready to set its foot here. Because of the rigid nature of the people no change is almost possible. Working against all odds, bit by bit the strength of workers in the organization has increased from 5 to 25 and so has the funding and the area of influence. Today it can proudly boast of a state of the art office setup at Meerut, and professional linkages which read like a who’s who.

Now after the demise of our Founder Director, Sh. Anil Rana, the organization is running smoothly in the capable hands of his wife, Ms. Anita Rana as the new Director.
