The Treasure House of Historical and Ancient Water Bodies in Western Uttar Pradesh INR Rs. 750/-
This is a documentary film of the treasure house of historical water bodies in Western Uttar Pradesh, aging back to Mahabharata, British and the Mughal era. It captures the cultural history of the water bodies in the area of Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Bijnor and Bulandshahr districts of Western U.P.
Covering the water bodies in the area of Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Bijnor and Bulandshahr districts of Western U.P., this film will be used to create awareness amongst students, teachers and parents through screening in schools. It will also be screened in the villages of these districts as well to motivate the local people to maintain and conserve their heritage.
This documentary has been given shape and directed by Mr. Rakesh Khatri, an eminent film maker from New Delhi.
Hame Paani Do, Hame Maut Do (Give us Water, Grant us Death) INR: 750/-
This 12 min. documentary highlights gross violation of human right to water at Jaibheem Nagar slum in Meerut city. It focuses on how the marginalized community residing in this slum is being adversely affected by the groundwater contamination leading to a record number of 124 deaths in the last five years (2001-2006). A powerful film it depicts in detail the reasons of water contamination, its social and economic impacts apart from violation of human right to health. The film has been directed by Rakesh Khatri, an eminent film maker.
Holy Hindon or Dirty Drain INR: 750/-
Highlighting the high concentration of pesticides, heavy metals and other physio-chemical parameters in the river and groundwater of Hindon river and its catchment, this 13 min. film focuses on how the lifeline of the region if polluted turns to be taking lives of the people. The industrial pollution and its impact supported by scientific studies and data is dealt at length and also shows the apathy of the stakeholders. The hell impacts of the polluted Hindon and the sufferings of the community with serious ailments like cancer gives reasons how knowingly or unknowingly we are turning the Amritdhara to Vishdhara (Nectar to Poison). Directed by Rakesh Khatri, this documentary film has earned widespread appreciation
Kheti Badli Re, Aas Jaagi Re INR: 750/-
This is a 19 minutes documentary film that highlights the systematic methodology of Janhit Foundation to promote organic farming amongst the farming community of Western U.P. This is a success story of how Seed to Market, under a defined route, the organisation could witness livelihood opportunities through organic agriculture and also how organic farming can prove to be a source of income enhancement and better productivity to the farmers.
