Establishing a Herbal Resource Centre for popularization of herbal farming technology to improve health and income prospects

A Herbal Resource Centre has been set up by Janhit Foundation at the S. D. Public School, Muzaffarnagar with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations. This is the first Herbal Centre in U. P. with an objective to create awareness amongst students and the local community through various means of training and demonstration for popularization of organic farming of herbs in the region. Five Medicinal and Aromatic plants (MAPs) have been chosen for the Herbal Resource Centre namely,

  • Ashwagandha
  • Sarpgandha
  • Safed Musli
  • Stevia
  • Ghrit Kumari (Aloe Vera)

The Herbal Resource Centre was inaugurated on May 9, 2007 by Ajay Rastogi, National Coordinator of Organic Agriculture with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
